The Leave it in the Ground Initiative (LINGO)’s legal name is “LINGO e.V.”. Our address is Augustusweg 59, 01445 Radebeul, Germany. Contact person: Kjell Kühne, info@leave-it-in-the-ground.org, 0351/27374281. LINGO e.V. was established in 2016. LINGO was initially founded as Leave it in the Ground Coalition in December 2011 in Durban, South Africa and later changed its name to Leave it in the Ground Initiative. During the first five years it did not have a legal personality.

In 2022 we have 1 full-time staff, 8 half-time interns and about 15 volunteers working from occasional to full-time, and about 5 external service providers (research, design, etc.). These numbers are only for LINGO proper. We also act as fiscal sponsor for other groups such as the Gastivists who have more staff.

In 2021, for LINGO’s own work, a grant from Patagonia and another from the Fondation Un Monde par Tous accounted for over 10% of our budget.
