LINGO @ COP 30
Panels, press, and frontline voices
The Leave it in the Ground Initiative (LINGO) is in Belém for the full run of COP30!
We are hosting official panels, a press conference, speaking at events, and amplifying allies for a livable future.

Where to find us
• Press conference: Hundreds of Gigatons of fossil fuel mitigation possible via the TFFF
Date: 11 Nov 2025, 09:00–09:30
Location: Press Conference 2, Area D, Blue Zone
A concise briefing on performance-based deals that pay for verified non-extraction, turning untouched fossil reserves into climate value. Watch the recording and learn more about our groundbreaking report.
• Side event: TFFF & Fossil Fuels: parallel tracks or convergence?
Date: 11 Nov 2025, 15:00–16:30
Location: Side Event Room 8, Blue Zone
Co-organisers: Arayara International Institute, LINGO e.V., PAIRVI Associates
This session explores how Brazil’s Tropical Forests Forever Facility (TFFF) model for results-based forest protection can be linked with LIDs for verified fossil non-extraction, creating integrated incentives that value carbon stored both above and below ground. We’ll be unveiling our breakthrough research on the hundreds of billions of tons of potential CO2 emissions under TFFF forests and proposing how to finance the protection of them from extraction and burning
• Side event: Accelerating Coal Phase-Out Part II: Stories and Lessons from the Frontlines of Financing the Energy Shift
Date: 14 Nov 2025, 15:45 PM – 16:45
Location: Asia Climate Solutions Pavilion, Blue Zone
Co-organisers: Arayara International Institute, LINGO e.V., PAIRVI Associates
This session brings together voices from across Asia to share real-world experiences of how the coal-to-clean transition is being financed—or where it remains stalled. By grounding the discussion in concrete stories, the event sets the stage for deeper dialogue on the financial mechanisms and policy reforms needed to accelerate Asia’s transition. Register here
• Side event: Financial Incentives to Leave Fossil Fuels in the Ground
Date: 17 Nov 2025, 20–21:00
Location: ARAYARA – Amazon Climate Hub (R. Boaventura da Silva, 64, Belém/PA)
In cooperation with the Fossil Fuel Non-proliferation Treaty and the Arayara Institute, LINGO’s team of financial incentive experts will outline the tools available today for countries to finance leaving fossil fuels in the ground, challenges and how to navigate them, and Latin America’s vital role in the struggle for a livable future. Keep an eye out for our Methane Emergency Brake conversation-starter stickers!
They are free and designed to kick off useful chats about rapid cuts to methane gas, and are easy to spot on badges, bottles, and notebooks.
If you attend one of our events or meet a LINGO team member in the corridors, ask for a sticker so you can help spread the message across COP30.
Find out more about the Methane Emergency Brake and how you can be a part of pulling it.

Why we’re in Belem
The fossil fuel industry remains dangerous and unsustainable. To protect people and nature, we need financial incentives that reward prevention: forests kept standing and fossil carbon left underground. At COP30, we will make the case for practical, transparent incentives that reward real-world, verified outcomes, while amplifying the voices of those who defend land, water, health, and culture every day.
